Former Vice President Joe Biden twice mispronounced “Psalmist” during his 18-minute Thanksgiving message on Wednesday.

Biden concluded his speech by attempting to quote the Bible:

Biden called on Americans to “dream again” this Thanksgiving.

“If we care for one another, if we open our arms rather than brandishing our fist, we can with the help of God heal,” he said.

“And if we do, and I’m sure we can, we can pres— claim the Palmist— what the Palmist who wrote these following words,” he said, uttering the “P” instead of the “S,” “The Lord is my strength and my shield and with my song I give thanks to Him,” the self-described “devout Catholic” said while attempting to quote Psalm 28.

“I give thanks now for you,” Biden added, “for the trust you’ve placed in me.”

They Keep Saying He is Devout....

 I don't think it means what they think it means.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine is predicting that the Roman Catholic Church may eventually change its opposition to gay marriage.

Kaine is a devout Roman Catholic as well as a U.S. senator from Virginia and a former governor of that state. He told the Human Rights Campaign during its national dinner Saturday in Washington that he had changed his mind about gay marriage and that his church may follow suit one day.

"I think it's going to change because my church also teaches me about a creator who, in the first chapter of Genesis, surveyed the entire world, including mankind, and said, 'It is very good,'" Kaine said. He then recalled Pope Francis' remark that "who am I to judge?" in reference to gay people.

"I want to add: Who am I to challenge God for the beautiful diversity of the human family? I think we're supposed to celebrate it, not challenge it," Kaine said.

Is this the end of Catholicism?

This was harder than I thought it would be,” Margaret O’Brien told a CBS reporter last weekend. O’Brien, 86, had been one of the hundred or so parishioners holding a round-the-clock vigil at St. Frances X. Cabrini Church in Scituate, Mass.

 

Eleven years ago the Boston Archdiocese announced that it was closing the parish, a reorganization necessitated by the financial settlements after the clergy sex-abuse scandal. The parishioners at St. Frances have tried to alter the hierarchy’s decision using canon law as well as the US legal system, maintaining a presence in the building so it would not be sold out from under them.
But last month, they lost their final appeal when the Supreme Court declined to take their case. And on Sunday, they held their final service, holding 11 prayer quilts the community had created to commemorate each year of their battle.

 The story says these are just the kind of Catholics we need to save the Church from declining attendance. 


While the Catholic hierarchy may not have had a choice in closing the parish, in order to thrive they need to re-create exactly the kind of community that St. Frances had become. Especially with a decline in vocations, the church is more dependent on lay participation than ever.

So how did these upright and outstanding Catholics respond to the closure?


While the hierarchy has expressed its hope that the St. Frances congregants will join other local parishes, they say they are done. Starting next week, the members will be forming a religious institution independent of the church, meeting initially at the local Masonic lodge.

The Senate voted last week to stop the Democrats’ filibuster of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation that would ban abortions after 20 weeks — as neither Congress nor state legislatures can vote to ban all abortions under Roe v. Wade. The bill highlights how unborn babies feel intense pain when they are killed in abortions.

 What I am asking every colleague is this: look in your hearts and help us stand up for the most innocent life,” said Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in advance of the vote. But Democrats defeated the cloture vote 54-42, with pro-life Senate Republicans not getting the 60 votes needed to end debate and proceed to a vote on the pro-life bill itself. Three Democrats joined with Republicans to support the pro-life bill, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Joe Donnelly of Indiana. Two pro-abortion republican, Susan Collins of Maine and Mark Kirk of Illinois — voted with Democrats to support late-term abortions. 

So a salute to the Catholics who voted NAY and made sure cloture would not occur and as many as 18,000 babies can be killed by Planned Parenthood and their ilk each year!

Nancy Pelosi (Catholic) Is Smarter Than The Pope!

A reporter from CNS News today asked Nancy Pelosi: “Is an unborn child 20 weeks into pregnancy a human being?”
That’s not a question Pelosi is interested in addressing for obvious reasons, so she didn’t answer it. 
So the reporter asked again, “When it comes to the matter of whether or not an unborn child is a human being at 20 weeks gestation, what is your personal take on it? If it is not a human being, then what do you believe it is?”

That incensed her. “You know it is really interesting that you would come to these meetings to talk about it,” she replied. The nerve of a reporter coming to a press conference to talk to a member of Congress about the central point of a bill being considered in the House.
She continued: “As a mother of five, in six years, I have great standing on this issue, great understanding of it, more than my colleagues. In fact, one day many years ago, perhaps before you were born, when I was a new member of Congress, as a Catholic and a mom of five, opposing some of the initiatives similar to what — in the same vein as — what we have today, one of the Republicans stood up and said: Nancy Pelosi thinks she knows more about having babies than the pope. Yeah, Yeah. That would be true.”

Connell sums it up:

Actually, no one doubts that Nancy Pelosi has more direct knowledge of what it’s like to bear children than the pope does. What some people find hard to comprehend is how “as a mother,” she’s totally fine with letting unborn children be killed right up to the point of exiting the birth canal, and how as a “devout Catholic” she has no problem publicly disregarding clear and longstanding Church teaching on the issue while also claiming that the professed devoutness of her Catholicism somehow gives her more credibility to do so.

Today, the Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club will host the Satanic Temple group as it reenacts a “Black Mass” on Harvard’s main campus.

 Just what is a “black mass”? Said to have been created in the Middle Ages by those who practiced witchcraft, the black mass is a Catholic Mass, except inverted — for example, Communion bread is desecrated and mocked.

 The Harvard student group is standing by its decision to host the event, stating: “Our purpose is not to denigrate any religion or faith, which would be repugnant to our educational purposes, but instead to learn and experience the history of different cultural practices.”

Pardon me, but “our purpose is not to denigrate any religion or faith”? The entire purpose of a black mass is to denigrate the Catholic faith. Do they no longer teach basic-level thinking at Harvard?

And what makes me a bad Catholic?

 As Yahoo! reports, the Archdiocese of Boston is calling on its faithful to pray for those involved and on Harvard to disassociate itself from the event.
