Non Tasarmi, Fratello!

Pope Says Protestants Will Burn!

If you judge from the recent mainstream media headlines, you'd think the recently released "Responses to Some Questions Regarding Certain Aspects of the Doctrine of the Church" says that the Pope has consigned Protestants to Hell. It doesn't.

What it does say is that Catholics believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

Seems like I've heard that before...

Friday the 13th

It's an UNLUCKY day! That's in contrast to two days ago, which was 7/11.. very lucky!

What does Sister Mary Martha say about it?

"According to Catholic doctrine, there is no such thing as 'luck'. As a Catholic, you are not allowed to put your faith into anything but God. If you do, you are breaking the First Commandment: "I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before Me."

By that God meant, "Thou shalt not put thy faith in a four leaf clover, a rabbit's foot, an old t-shirt, a pair of sneakers, crystals and candles, numbers or stars. Thou shalt step on cracks in the sidewalk, walk under ladders as long as there isn't something precariously balanced on the the top of them, break mirrors and spill small amounts of salt. Thou shalt wipe up the salt with a dish cloth and throw it in the sink. Thou shalt walk all around behind black cats."

Celebrate Good Times, COME ON!

The Pope cranks the boom box to celebrate the publication of the motu proprio today. It's called "Summorum Pontificum". Here's how it starts:

"SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM cura ad hoc tempus usque semper fuit, ut Christi Ecclesia Divinae Maiestati cultum dignum offerret, «ad laudem et gloriam nominis Sui» et «ad utilitatem totius Ecclesiae Suae sanctae»."

I'll get back to you when I figure out what it says.

Do you know this saint? I DOUBT IT...(that's a hint).

The painting is by Georges de la Tour, who shows the obvious influence of my guy, the great and truly nutty CARAVAGGIO!
