The Jenny Craig Feast of St. Anthelm, June 26
There are several things that make St. Anthelm interesting. First of all he was a Carthusian, also known as the Order of St. Bruno. The name itself derives from the Chartreuse mountains of eastern France, where there headquarters (Mother House) is located and near where St. Bruno lived. The Carthusians are monastic monks. The word, "charterhouse"is derived from Carthusian monastery. Each charterhouse is headed by a prior. The HQ is called the Grand Chartruese near Grenoble, France and looks like this:
St. Anthelm became Prior in the Grand Chartruese (the Catholic Online description is wrong - it says he was made abbot, but this is not abbey) in 1139. He was a hermit for a bit, then returned to the Grand Chartruese, then Pope Alexander III made him Bishop of Belley.

Eventually, he quit but was assigned to go and mediate a dispute in England between St. Thomas Beckett King Henry II. He never made it, and returned Belley, where he died in 1178 and where his remains are in the Cathedral.
