St. Kieran was a contemporary of St. Patrick, and was converting heathens in Ireland BEFORE St. Patrick got there. He is considered the first Ireland-born saint...like St. Elizabeth Anne Seton is to America.
The question is this...did St. Patrick know anyone who was NOT a saint?
