Proof That Socialism is Godless
On Sunday, February 25, in
Venezuela, many faithful were invited to make a spiritual communion only
in several parishes in the State of Merida, in the northwest of the
country.
The
reason was purely material: flour has become a rare commodity. In an
effort to remedy this shortage, the bishops have asked the faithful to
bring all the flour they have left so that the nuns can use it to make
hosts. The most sought-after products in Venezuela are powdered milk, margarine, sugar, corn oil, cheese, peas, lentils, rice, wheat flower, bread, pasta, cornmeal, coffee, and mayonnaise. In this same State of Meruda, hosts and wine ran out in 2013, forcing many priests to buy supplies in Cucuta, a Columbian city on the border.
