The Trouble With Jesuits, Part 59
.- Not only is there a good deal in common between Muslims and Christians, but Catholics are called to respect and work together with those who practice the Muslim faith in recognition of truth and goodness they do possess, said Islam scholar Fr. Thomas Michel.
The major “common point” between Christianity and Islam, Fr. Michel said, is that both faiths believe in the existence of only one God, and that both are trying to do what this one God wants.
Of course, Muslims say that Jesus was NOT the Son of God. So what does St. John say about that?
Who is the liar? Whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Whoever denies the Father and the Son, this is the antichrist.23No one who denies the Son has the Father, but whoever confesses the Son has the Father as well.
But hey! Father Michel is a scholar! An ISLAM scholar! AND a JESUIT!
