Feast of St. Clare, August 11

 

St. Clare was a friend of St. Francis of Assisi, and founder of the order known as the Poor Clares.

St. Clare:

1) Wore a course brown habit tied with a cord.
2) Didn't wear shoes.
3) Lived in a poor house.
4) Kept silent most of the time.
5) Is the patron saint for those with eye problems.
5) Ate no meat.
