Feast of Leo the Great, Doctor of the Church

 

St. Leo was Pope from 440 AD until 461 AD. Attila the Hun and his Mongol horde surrounded Rome when Leo was Pope. The smooth talking Leo met Attila at the gate and convinced him to go away.
